FAVE COFFEE TIME

Once you love coffee, that’s it. It’s always a great way to add a nice moment in your day and have a coffee break and a nice talk with a friend.

What happens when you combine three of my fave things - walks downtown, coffee and that oversized blazer trend? New blog post full of smiley pics because I’m having a great time.

A great chance to enjoy some of the last sunny autumn days with a nice walk around the city full of colorful leaves. And a great cup of a seasonal latte sure adds up to the great afternoon.

On movie marathons and autumn coziness

The time is here - it’s sweater weather again and yes, that the Neighbourhood song is already on replay, my autumn movie marathon list is full and I’m ready for cozy mood. I truly believe that every season has its own beauty and for autumn it’s definitely all about the beautiful nature, warm atmosphere and Halloween aesthetic. And one of my fave autumn pleasures are cozy movie marathons so here’s my take on how I enjoy them <3

Of course the most essential part of the movie experience is the good movie choice and that’s why I love counting on fave classics like the Harry Potter movies or cult Halloween faves. However, since I’m eager to watch new things recently, I sometimes opt for random highly recommended movies and surprise myself.

Let’s not forget that the cozy atmosphere is also very important - and here as you know comes my fave part as I adore decorating cozy corners with pillows and blankets <3 and to make it even better I put to use my cooking spurs and add delicious treats to go with the movie and coziness.

SEPTEMBER - mood board: MORE OF SUMMER

As autumn is tip-toeing around us trying to come closer and closer although we still don’t want it, we seem to be firming our desperate grasp holding on to summer while the breeze is trying to take it away from us as easy as it does it to our favourite towel on the beach. We drink our coffee hotter and we wait longer for the sunrise. And this sweet smell of autumn comes back to the city together with our old love for delicate cashmere sweater and scarves.

However, it ain’t no autumn in our hearts. Not yet! We are going on litte weekend getaways and still wearing our summer clothes. We want more summer days and summer nights. And that’s why I’ve dedicated my September monthly mood board to the topic MORE OF SUMMER. And I’ll share some pictures - warm, suave, favourites of mine, ones that will give you more of the summerish mood and the great feeling of salty skin combined with crashing waves and proseco. Viva el verano!

I want to thank all the amazing people that took and generously shared those beautiful shots on Instagram, especially because they all often bless our feeds in this magical way. Long live this summerish mood and may autumn come late.

26 on 26th

Happy birthday to me! And welcome to my belated birthday stoy post <3 I had an amazing birthday and a whole week of celebrations and now I’d love to tell you how I feel when I’m already 26.

For my look I chose a NYX cosmetics lipstick ana nail polish, Loreal skin products, my favourite eyeliner and mascara by Maybelline NY, hair products by Kérastase.

I just looove this outfit - ZARA dress, a Dollskill bralette, suede sandals by HM and lovely Underthesun earrings, which unfortunatelly you cannot see because of my wild hair. :D

So the world really is pretty different when you’re 26. You may not believe me, I know it may sound unbelievable and ever naive or funny…but yes, it’s so. I turned 26 on the 26th of August last week and I seriously thought that just like any other year, nothing would change - I’d go on with my people, my blog, my job, my art and all the my things that you all constantly hear about. But then I woke up the next day only to find out that it’s me that’s changed indeed.

Maybe it was the reevaluation thoughts that go through my head on each birthday, maybe it was inspo from the convos I had with friends regarding different stages in our lves or maybe even the music, movies and other art pieces I discovered recently. Who knows, maybe all these merged to shake me up a bit. But I loved the result.

Because now I laugh a little louder, I talk a little more (as if it’s even possible), I walk around prouder, I enjoy the little things a bit more and life feels a little bit better - with more upcoming opportunities, more positivity and more happiness.

I care a little bit less about the things that annoy me or don’t fit my expectations, I am a little bit braver and wilder at doing everything my way and making a point, I stand taller and speak louder, I take more risks, dream even bigger and I want more more more.

Of course, one thing’s forever the same - I’m an artistic girl with big dreams, professional marketer by day and rockchick by night and by heart.

And all these statements really mean a lot me. My music is on the verge of finally getting out, my art projects are in full force and I cannot wait to rock this new year of my life. All I wish for is health, luck and inspirations.

This year I set myself the challenge to do new things, say new things and surprise everyone. Stay tuned to see how it all goes. :D

Passion for art

There has always been one thing that I have loved ever since I can remember - art. I have already told you about the geat role of music in my life, about my many writing prompts, I have mentioned my love for cinema and dancing is my way to relax and have fun. But today we are talking painting. Some of my ealiest memories as a kid as well as what I still do when I want to relax and recharge for a bit is drawing. I have so many notebooks, folders and boxes full of artworks that it’s almost hard to organize it at home but it’s all worth it. That’s one part of my life that I have not shed light into via a blog post yet and I’m very excited to tell you about it.

I have done all kinds and genres of artworks and I love trying new ideas and tricks. Among my works you can see lots of illustrations, sticker-like and graphic designs as well as more abstract colorful pieces and also portraits and realistic portraits.

These are some realistic portrait artworks I hav done of Axl Rose, Marilyn Manson, Chester Bennington, Hayley Williams, David Bowie, Joan Jett and Miley Cyrus. I have some more but these are my personal faves.

I love stationary and art supplies because they’re great tools and help me create my art but also because there are so many cute design products and brands that really impress me. And when I’m working I love to have my supplies layed out around me so I usually draw on a big table or on the floor so I can see them all. Some of my favorite brands for art supplies are Faber Castell, COPIC, Sakura Koi, Koh-i-noor, Prismacolor etc.

My favorite drawing style is usually varying from pencil/markers and ink pens to combining them with watercolors. It’s the effect created that I love the most but also the fact that I can always have a moleskine and pencils at hand and sketch on the go or even when I only have a short period of spare time. However, it’s nice when I have more time and can indulge into real painting and even create a little studio vibe atmosphere around.

Glad I had a chance to share my colorful mess with you! Whle working on this post I even started thinking about maybe getting a little more serious and braver in my paintings and trying to paint on canvas instead of only paper. So hopefully I’ll soon have a new story to tell you. :)

Netflix & F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

FRIENDS has been one of my favorite shows since forever and considering that I am rewatcing it for like a 15th time this week, I had some time to think about the idea of the show some more. And yes I know about those theories of how the show is actually controversial but I just do not want to overanalyze things - I watched it as a kid with a non-prejudiced mind, and I loved it, that’s it for me so I’ll just go on. In short that’s a show about the lives and experiences of some friends in their 20s who live in NYC, good things, bad things, weird things, always together. I think the main plot theme is connection and togetherness and I think that’s what has made millions of people across the world love the show.

As someone who is writing this in an online blog while havin digital marketing as their job, believe me I am one of the people rooting for best use of all digital tools and advanced technologies, but from a human point of view I do realize that there are some troubles it may cause us as well. Given all the things and opportunities it gives us…is there something it actually robs us from?

Looking at FRIENDS, they spend so much time together sharing moments that we nowadays often share via apps and texts. I’m not talking about the moments when we are apart and can only contact through the internet, instead I’m talking about the moments when we are close but actually feel far away and detached. How many times have you seen friends or even a couple sitting together at a café but each one is on their phone probs smiling at somebody else’s joke?

Of course I have checked my phone at a café or during dinner, probably we all have at some occasion - but imagine it one day becomes the default and that’s how we always are. Scary isn’t it? To never be present.

Ironically, there are so many apps that aim to help us be more present and mindfull. I guess that’s why I (as well as many other people -as I found out via a simple Google search) feel that there is something special about the exact period 90s-00s when the action in the FRIENDS series takes place and that transfered to nowadays it would never be the same. This was true even in 2014 and Business Insider wrote about it, then in 2016 Cosmopolitan wrote about it and then Buzzfeed gave their opinion as of 2018 (this article is my personal fave), so you get the point here.

It’d be interesting to take a look at more recent series that also make sure to keep the focus on real life communication rather than online. Take The Big Ban theory as an example, where the main characters love computer games and often play but once again it’s clearly visible that their lives don’t revolve around this.

Considering that FRIENDS will have a reunion soon, we’ll see how things will go in the 20s pace. But the characters will already be older. I guess it’ll be fun but yet I am really curious about what would it be like to see the young FRIENDS living in 2020?

Would Rachel be Instafamous? Would Phoebe rock Tumblr? Would Joey have a Tinder? Cause I bet Monica would love productivity apps. And how about Chandler and Ross?

Now in this quarantine period we realize how much we miss hanging out and being with our favorite people and I think it’s good to use this revelation together with the time for thinking things through and literally anything else at hand (for me it was FRIENDS) to think about what we are missing in our daily routine, what we probably forget, underestimate or not appreciate.

I believe that we will be thrilled to dive into social situations right after the social isolaton is over and I think this is how we shall always be.

Good old record stores

Tell me I am not the only one completely captivated by music stores! Really - everything from the beautiful vynils and amazing cover art pieces to the great load of surprisingly cool hits being played exactly while you are strolling around. Magic! Luckily we still have some rare record store places that keep that vibe and aesthetic alive. However I am so sad I’d never walk into one of those epic 70s music stores, people got to be so lucky to see these times with their own eyes.

So as a record store enthusiast I make sure to often pay such inspiring record store visits and almost always the first thing I run to is the vinyls section - I’m so happy vinyls have been getting back to being popular in the recent years. I remember when I was a kid and we had a vintage record player at home, then CD became the trend and now we finally remembered that vinyls got the best sound and are indeed amazing. I really enjoy it when something I like suddenly becomes trendy and everyones starts liking it! P.S. The same happened with the Harley Quinn charater after the “Suicide Squad” movie premiered as well as with metal boots that I fell in love with because I listen to metal bands then two years later they becme a famous trend and everyone started wearing them. Now let’s go back to the topic of vinyls, actually, I currently don’t have a vinyl player so I just watch them but I think I’m gonna get one soon because the sound is so much better and of course, because I love the vintage feel :D

Forever a great Nirvana fan and I literally couldn’t resist taking a photo once I saw this record. It includes 14 songs and looks so cool that I think it might be some special edition or something. Just amazing!

See this CD wall? I like to call it that way. Very often when I take a photo of something, the photo just doesn’t capture the magic. Like sunsets for example or cool indoor places, especially not well lid. Has this happened to you? I hope I’m not the only one it happens to but I also hope you have tricks to deal with this that you’ll share in the comments. :D So I’ll keep that image a bit artsy because the light made it look interesting but keep in mind that it looked even better irl.

Now to my best part of the post! I even got two favorite records of mine - David Bowie’s Station to station, which is probably the album I have played most times in my life ever and Lana del Rey’s Born to die, bits which I happen to sing litarally every single day.

There is someting more I’d like to share, I don’t know why but record stores remind me of how much I miss video rental stores a lot. They used to be a big thing when I was a kid and if you remember how happy a walk to the rental store made all kids - it was such an amazing experience each time. Sweet memories haha

Inspiration time

I’d like to share with you a small moment filled with inspiration that is part of my favorite self tradition - to take some me time and get recharged and inspired. And what inspires me? Art, always. It could be a drawing, movie, song, photograph, also a magazine page with some kind of innovative graphic design composition or a great piece of writing. It could even be a nice fragrance or a great fashion item especially when I’m watching a runway show because so much design work and ideas and creativity is put in literally any product or project - it’s astonishing. Basically art inspires me to make more art. And it’s a vicious circle of art that I adore.

I usually use my days off work to enjoy and explore quality art and also create some pieces of my own. Last week was no exception and I made my best to devote time to my favorite things. And here are some photos I’d like to share with you.

I have been in love with Vogue magazine since forever. I remember when I was very little and couldn’t read the articles but I loved flipping through my mom’s magazines and getting lost in the beauty of the photographs.

Chanel is a brand I truly love. It’s minimalistic classy concept, the strong women image they represent and empower, Coco’s eternal style, Karl’s new wave of trends - just everything! Whenever I am looking for some fashion inspiration, I know I can trust Chanel in everything. Just look at their couture collections and ads, pure perfection.

David Bowie is one of my favorite artists ever and the reason I say artist is because this man is literally a complete Universe of his own - form his music to his style choices and concept album work and stories, definitely a remarkable individual.

And the best way for me to arrange the inspo space was to add a bit of a mood board feeling with the photos. If you’ve been following me and my blog for some time, you already know that I am a big fan of mood boards. Well that’s because having a visual atmosphere builder that sets the mood is always welcomed and in this case the retro vibe sure is strong.

This actually resulted in me writing two rather jazzy songs which are not my usual style and made me feel that I am broadening my songwriting choices which I find amazing. Hopefully some songs are going to be ready for you soon because I already cannot wait to share them. 🖤

1. Dreams do come true

...especially if you help them do. That's my favorite kind of gift to give, it's always unique and easy to come up with and it's guaranteed to never fail. Perfect, I told you. But it's only suitable for certain people that have decided to tell you some even small dream of theirs. The thing is you must have at least one friend/relative that has always wanted to visit France for example, or get a dog, or go diving etc. They have shared this dream but never actually found the time, courage or money to make it come true. So now it's your turn to do it. They will surely be happy and excited and you'll be part of a great memory in their life.

2. Ticket to ride

One of the things we find it hardest to pay for is actually experiences. Yes, they’re great and memorable but since we cannot see and touch them, we feel a little bit like paying too much for something imaginary. Sooo what I suggest is to get a ticket as a present – no matter if it is plane tickets for a trip, a SPA giftcard, a concert or theme park ticket – these are all really interesting ideas.

3. Homemade is best

This only works for you if you indeed have some special gift or craft talent but it’s a really cool idea. Maybe you’re good at drawing, creating scrapbooks, singing or anything else. Then put some effort into creating a custom made personal present - draw a card or painting or write someon a song. It sound simple but in many cases these are the presents we value most since they are most personal and shwo us how much people care. After all, remember that Christmas is all about caring and loving the people around you, not just buying stuff.

4. Sweets & giftcards

I know it may sound funny but I have had a chance to try out this approach multiple times and it worked so freaking well each time. You know that for some people no present is really good, they don’t like surprises and you never feel like they really liked the present you gave them. Then what do ypu get them? How do you make them smile? Luckily, one universal thing we all enjoy throughout the holidays is good food and treats. So my never-fail idea for a present is a generic giftcard accompanied with lots of cool treats. The giftcard is a delicate way to tell someone both I don’t know what to get you and I want you to have something nice as a present from me. And I think that the best thing to combine with it is some sweet treats or of course vegan sweet treats. You always know your close people’s love food brands are and it’s easy to choose their faves. Of course you could also choose some high end brand (e.g. botique chocolate brand) and add a more classy touch to it.

Let's talk about why girl power matters.

Just a word or two from me about the positive changes in society. ♀ ♡

So let's talk about sex, one of the sexes in specific. Women.

I don't know if you know but we are currently making history. We are living in a time when we're witnessing an almost never seen before wave of empowerment and women supporting women. Which is INCREDIBLE and I just feel so lucky to have a chance to witness it. And what's even better - to contribute to it. Because YASSS sis, you rule, you rock, you can do it, you're strong, you're pretty, you're smart!

Since the dawn of time we've been seeing and experiencing the classic - women tear down women. In any way: in movies, in songs, at school, at work, in life, everywhere - and it's been awful.

But why the damn hell? Why have we chosen to show this? To do this? Why did we as a society ever even create this trend? Since it's just crap!? It has been a major deviation from good and meaningful existance. Thank God we finally found our way out. Through honest pure friendship and support!

So I dare you: call, shout, whisper, text something supportive to another woman! Now! 3,2,1.. progress! <3

Why we should stop being "busy" ♥

Do you know what it is? This a sunrise you miss out while being too "busy"preparing for work, eating breakfast, scrolling through your social media.

Do you know what it is? It can be anything. That one thing you regret missing out. Come on, there's at least one that comes to mind immediately.

Think about all the things you are missing out because you're too busy doing something else which is pretty often more or less meaningless. We've all been kinda stuck in this Fight Club quote lately "We buy things we don't need with money we don't have to impress people we don't like."

We have started talking about being busy as if it's something great. We have started showing off with not having enough time for something. And we pride ourselves in this, which is the worst. We feel important and valuable, we feel needed here and there, we feel that our lives are full of things. And at the same time we're also kinda honestly sorry that we skip parties, don't call our friends as often as we want to and we don't have "me" time.

You, me, all of us. I'm glad to have finally saw it, and I'm decided to finally fix it.

Because why the hell do we do it? We do it. It's all on us. If there's someone who can change it, it's us. Stop filling up your to do list, tell your friends you miss them, meet them, now, skip a task to go out for a walk, leave your phone at home, wake up earler and have our cup of coffee while watching the sunrise, walk barefoot in the park, watch an oldtime movie. ♥

Midnight confessions of a secret rockstar, well not so secret anymore  o b v i o u s l y. :D :)

I've been wantin' to do this for a while now. I've been waiting for this moment for so long. I wanted to show you my passion, what's drivin' me, what makes me loose myself and then find myself again. But I never knew what it really was. I still don't know what's driving me but it's still there and it's still driving me. So I'm going where it takes me."

I've been writing songs for over 9 years now. I've been telling stories about life, feelings, inspirations and wonders. And I've been finding more of myself with each song, I've been becoming more open, more me, happier and truer. But I rarely even told that to anyone. I rarely sang my songs to them. But the point was always sharing, it was always expressing yourself and sharing those songs everyone feeling or thinking the same, or very different. Christmas is almost here! And so is the pressure to find the best presents for the people you love. Becasuse when it comes to the women in your life, this is really important. But what if you were too busy or couldn't find a good present? 23 THINGS I LEARNED BEFORE 23

Hello guys! So I recently celebrated my 23th birthday and I took some time to reflect on the past years. I happen to be a little bit of a thinker so I thought a lot about how I have changed throughout the years and how far I've come in terms of following my dreams and being happy to just be me.

And here are the 23 things I have learned in my life so far. Hope it will be interesting for you to read these and that they will inspire you or teach you something. Enjoy!

#1 Smile. Always smile. It makes everything better.

#2 This quote by Dr. Seuss — 'Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.' is just so true.

#5 Kindness is the best gift you can give to anyone. Spread it freely.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 2017 MOVIE REVIEW

I saw the movie last week and I really couldn't wait to share my thoughts with you. I've loved the animated movie ever since I was 4 and it was a big deal for me when the news spread that an action movie was in the works. So now that it's playing in movie theatres I was one of the first to see it and I was very very excited. Armed with my fave nacho cheese and great expectations I was ready to watch the movie. And I made sure to document my journey for the blog haha. I also added the trailer in this post in case you haven't seen it or if you just enjoy watching it over and over again (like me) :)

Thoughts:

First of all, I loved the movie. The effects, the cinematography and how almost all of the scenes looked exactly the way they did in the 1991 version. Ah-mazing!

Second thing,  the ball room was everything one could ever dream of and even more haha. <3

Third thing, I gotta say I miss the animated beast's teeth because they were part of his signature look. They looked a little bit different in the live action movie but anyway. It was a great movie and I'd watch it a thousand times again just as I did with the animated one when I was a kid.
